Marbella is one of the most visited places in Europe these days. It is an ancient city with all the modern day facilities. The city is well equipped with road networks, traveling networks, communications networks, medical facilities and the latest infrastructure in all regards. Marbella is wonderful in respect of weather because it remains pleasant most of the year and it’s excellent for spending times in all seasons.

Marbella had human settlements in the area of sierra Blance Mountain even before the birth of Jesus Christ. The remains found in such area show that the human settlements were there from the Neolithic and Paleolithic eras. There are clear evidences of human settlements in the area since 7th century before Christ. After that different nations have settled in the area with the passage of time.

Marbella is now modern but it still has old town within the city. That has remains of old Marbella in shape of buildings and places of ancient eras. Rio Verde Roman Villa, Guadimina Thermal Baths and many other things in that part are excellent examples of that. Similarly Vega del Mar Paleo-Christian Basilica is there in Marbella which reminds of Visigoth times.

There have been significant developments in Marbella in the times of Muslims. There were three entrances made to the city. These were from the sea, from Ronda and from Malaga. A wall was created around the city and a castle was built. However these things are mostly found in the literature now and only castle remains are there.

The cathedral of Toledo is an important place in Marbella. It reminds of the Christian invasion by King Fernando in the 15th century. In the 16th century Marbella faced demolitions and modifications in the city. The orange square was connected to the Puerta del Mar which is the sea entrance to Marbella. Marbella was famous for vineyards and sweet vine in the 17th and 18th centuries.

In the 19th century Spain moved towards industrialization which left a good impact on Marbella as well. Marbella remained an important agriculture and mining city for Spain till five decades ago. Marbella is now more a tourist resort then anything else for the Spain. It is a place rich with great history, culture and great atmosphere of acceptability for everyone.
